Behind the scenes

Andrew Lee
Hi, as the founder of Keeping Time and a jazz violinist (an uncommon instrument in jazz), I began this educational initiative to bring attention to the jazz violinists at large — a group of artists that are often underrepresented and under-appreciated, but are nevertheless incredible musicians rapidly growing in importance today.
Keeping Time tackles this cause through live interviews containing the humor of wisdom of today's pioneering jazz violinists, jazz violin/jazz album reviews, and jazz violin community performances/busking with my bandmate Alessandro.

Alessandro Araujo
Good morning, good afternoon, and good evening. I am a passionate jazz pianist and interviewer for the Keeping podcast Time. Along with Andrew, I’ve attended performances around Washington Heights NYC, arranging podcast sessions with these musicians afterwards. I am fascinated by how jazz absorbs and informs the cultures that surround it.
